As the day unfolds, there are endless options around which you can shape exactly the celebration you want. From cocktails and canapes on the lawn to long-table dining under the soaring ceiling of The Long Room, roving food experiences across a range of spaces or a food-truck festival vibe, our highly flexible spaces enable you to bring your vision to life in any way you wish.

  • Ceremony | Canapes | Reception

    With 165 years of history, our stunning Long Room works beautifully as both a ceremony and reception space. Featuring soaring vaulted timber ceilings and French doors that open onto a honeysuckle-covered arbour just outside, this special space can be configured in a number of ways.

    Ceremony

    The Long Room is the perfect setting for a gorgeous chapel-style ceremony. It can be set out with wooden church pews that complement The Millhouse’s heritage feel, then reconfigured to a dining set-up after your ceremony, while your guests are enjoying canapés in another area.

    Reception

    With flexible seating, The Long Room can be configured for long table dining, or with smaller tables. The space works equally well for sit-down dining, or for more organic, grazing-style set-ups.

    Ceremony

    We have several beautiful spots in the garden should you wish to have an outdoor ceremony on the grounds. These include a lawn which looks onto Anderson’s Mill, providing a gorgeous setting for your vows. Church pews can be set out on the lawns to create your ceremony space, so your guests can be comfortably seated.

    Reception

    Our lawns and outdoor garden spaces are a divine spot for post-ceremony drinks and canapés. When it comes to dining, you’re welcome to put a marquee on our lawn, or we can simply set up long tables for a beautiful meal under our soaring country skies (weather dependant of course).

  • Ruby’s Lounge is the perfect chill-out space for taking a quiet moment. Plush couches, flickering candles and a statement chandelier make for a lush spot to kick back, take a breath and let the magic of the day sink in.

    Ruby’s Lounge is named for Ruby Anderson, one of the Anderson family matriarchs who raised her family here from 1916. Ruby’s pianola still sits in the lounge today.

  • Shirley’s Bar is the hub of the party. With direct access from The Long Room, your guests can refresh themselves with a delicious tipple any time they like. It’s also a fantastic spot for a dessert cart.

    Shirley’s Bar is named for Shirley Muelan (nee Anderson), the last Anderson lady to live at The Millhouse, where she resided until 2008.
